Still without a project

Formulating a training program with e-learning is hard! I had many ideas over the weekend, but wondered if I should not focus on laboratory safety. Either a Webct quiz or safety tips via SMS. I can do something on parasitology, but there are already so much on the Web. I want to do something original and practical.

  1. Hi Bugsy!

Atleast you have some ideas - that's an excellent start! ;-) Just keep at it, you'll narrow your search down soon enough!

  2. Using the LMS (Webstudies) might be too "hidden" behind a login etc for a laboratory safety project for your colleagues and students. SMS idea sounds great - maybe a bit expensive (if you have big database, and plan on sending many sms's). Longer, but cheaper, and also very immediate communication might be Twitter? First get all colleagues on board with Twitter, and then use Twitter (?? I don't know).

Part of the project might be to do a survey on your planned audience wrt the technology they have/ prefer. One might even do Facebook intergation? Or maybe a mix of all the above (even Webstudies if you are building an interactive"ish" resource that you want colleagues/ students to access - and maybe combine with a test/ quiz to see if people understood/ need more safety follow-up).

Starts sounding like a good plan (the more I wrtie about it). Safety training and certification is big overseas. Make your life easier and save time (eventually) by using e-Learning.

    Good luck
