I have organized with the university for me to be able to send SMS via the web. My head of department also approved it. It costs R70 per month for the software and 35c for each SMS send. I will now compile the list of all our lab staff and then I can review the current teaching material available in the lab about safety. I have done a quick survey and I have come to the conclusion that most of our lab staff will be reached most effectively by SMS. The next step in the "A" would be to consider a Safety blog as extra means of communication.

ReplyDeleteYou are now beginning to move between the ADDIE letters (which is fine and a good thing). Already starting to think about design (blog as communication tool), development (current teaching material that you can use) and implementation (Software and sms costs and which system to use). I guess Evaluation is also already in the mix as you did a survey to see if your plan will work (although that could also be part of Analyse.
Looks like your plans are "coming together" (to use the phrase of a well know movie now coming out on the circuit:).
I like this idea and it will be interesting to evaluate the reaction to it. Which web service are you using?
